The most accurate 3D printing method?

The first SLA printer saw the light of day thanks to Chuck Hull in 1986. During printing, a small hardened layer is formed by the action of a laser beam on a liquid photosensitive resin , additional layers are applied to it, and the resulting product is thus created by layering .

What materials do SLA printers use?

SLA Resin, or UV sensitive resin, is widely used as a quick and effective solution for dental practices across Europe. They are mainly Harz Labs resins , which, thanks to their properties and wide range of products, took the 1st place in our ranking of the best materials for SLA printers.

SLA technology differs mainly in the light source and the difference is in printing speed and accuracy:

  • SLA (two static lasers and moving mirrors)

    • high accuracy at the expense of longer printing time

  • DLP (Digital Projector)

    • illuminating the entire layer at once ensures a shorter printing time

  • MSLA (LCD display)

    • same method as DLP with lower resolution

How to properly clean the tray of an SLA printer

How to properly clean the tray of an SLA printer

SLA 3D printers can create high-quality prints with a smooth and sharp texture by curing the resin with light (it can be with a laser or a digital projector). Therefore, SLA printers are becoming more and more popular. But you also need to think about cleaning the printer properly. If you are confused, this article will try to shed some light on the issue of cleaning the tray of an SLA printer.

Print settings for SLA printers

Print settings for SLA printers

How to print from HARZ Labs resin? You will learn how to choose the basic settings of the SLA 3d printer for HARZLabs resin printing. Each printer requires individual settings. Even within one 3D printer model, different settings may be required (mainly applies to SLA printers with DLP technology). We have collected a wealth of information about 3D printer and resin settings for better user comfort and to achieve the highest possible print quality.

Curing time depends on the type of resin. For modeling resins, we recommend curing for 10-30 minutes. It is enough that the surface does not stick and the model hardens. To achieve maximum toughness and hardness, the dental resins must be fully cured, a time of 30-60 minutes is recommended. Casting resins may not be cured for longer than 30 minutes.
