The TMC2209 V1.3 driver is a powerful module for controlling stepper motors, not only in 3D printers.

It can deliver a continuous current of up to 2 A with the capability of peak current performance up to 2.8 A and is compatible with a power supply voltage range of 4.75 V to 28 V. Thanks to StealthChop2 technology, it runs extremely quietly. Users have the option to choose between two operating modes – step/direction or UART for flexible control, and with microPlyer interpolation, the driver can achieve up to 256 microsteps for smoother motion. The Stallguard feature allows for the detection of motor stalling without the use of external sensors, increasing reliability and reducing the risk of equipment damage. CoolStep, smart power management, optimizes power consumption by up to 75% depending on the current load. The driver is designed for easy installation with included heat sinks and is compatible with a wide range of 3D printer control boards, also allowing for easy integration with other driver versions (V1.2 and V1.3).

The StallGuard feature enables sensorless guidance of the printer by monitoring changes in current load, ensuring accuracy and protection of the motor when detecting a stall.

CoolStep automatically adjusts motor current depending on the load, leading to significant energy savings.

StealthChop minimizes motor noise when idle and enhances efficiency

SpreadCycle improves motion dynamics and torque while maintaining low noise levels, it can be combined with StallGuard for more efficient sensorless position calibration.
