The original Prusa i3 MK3S+ is an updated version of the award-winning MK3S 3D printer. The MK3S+ version is enriched with a new SuperPINDA probe, with which it is possible to achieve a better calibration of the first layer. They are also quality Misumi bearings and the printer is slightly improved in various places to make it easier to assemble and service. MK3S+ includes all cumulative improvements from the entire MK3 lifecycle. You will therefore find a heated bed with removable flexible printing plates with a PEI surface, there is also automatic Mesh Bed Leveling for leveling the unevenness of the bed, a filament sensor, recovery from power loss (so-called Power Panic) and a number of important safety features. And the printer is still wonderfully quiet!

It is not only thanks to these advantages that the Prusa MK3S became, for example, the Best 3D printer on the ALL3DP website. The MK3S is also the top-rated 3D printer, as well as the editor's pick, in the prestigious MAKE magazine's Digital Fabrication Guide 2019 selection. The MK3S also scored on TechRadar's Best 3D Printers list as the overall best 3D printer. The NY Times wrote about it that "...of all the 11 printers we've tested over the past five years, the Original Prusa i3 MK3S was able to print the biggest and most beautiful objects." NEW IN ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK3S+

SUPERPINDA PROBE

The SuperPINDA works regardless of temperature, has a much better sensor and overall better components compared to the P.I.N.D.A probe. v2, plus it doesn't need a thermistor. The combination of these improvements guarantees a perfect first layer every time you print!

MISUMI BEARINGS & OTHERS

The MISUMI bearings on the Y axes now have new metal mounts. They are easier to assemble and the bearings hold better in them. The X-axis belt tensioning mechanism has been improved and the plastic parts of the X-end have been strengthened. Changes to the extruder will make flexible filaments easier to print.

DOZENS OF IMPROVEMENTS

The MK3S+ also includes all the previous upgrades that were added during the life cycle of the MK3. Specifically, for example, straps from Gates, textile sleeves for cables, a new Einsy cover for better mounting of the Raspberry Pi, an anti-corrosion finish on smooth PEI sheets, and dozens of improvements to the firmware and plastic parts.

INTERCHANGEABLE PRINT PLATES

The spring steel printing plates are easy to maintain and allow for easy removal of the print from the pad. You can choose from three types of pads: smooth, grainy and satin. No matter what material you print, you can always choose the most suitable surface. Most filaments do not require separation layers and pre-press preparation is very easy.

MESH BED LEVELING

The SuperPINDA probe allows the printer to perform a process known as Mesh Bed Leveling before each print. The latter takes care of smoothing out microscopic irregularities of the printing surface, which can be caused, for example, by imprecise construction or addition of production tolerances. MBL makes it easy to achieve a great looking first coat.

QUALITY COMPONENTS

The MK3S+ has a body made from robust aluminum extrusions. The duralumin frame provides high rigidity, making the MK3S+ strong, stable and easy to assemble. The printer includes an extruder with Bondtech feed wheels and an E3D V6 hotend. The MK3S+ playfully prints objects up to 210 mm high.

RECOVERY FROM LOSS OF POWER

Are you worried that the power might go out in the middle of a 48-hour print run? That is not necessary! The MK3S+ can easily handle it. The printer can handle a complete loss of power. After power is restored, it simply picks up where it left off. In the event of a power failure, it turns off the heating of the extruder and the pad and stores the nozzle position in memory.

FILAMENT SENSOR

The MK3S introduced a redesigned extruder and the MK3S+ improves it further. The built-in filament sensor uses a reliable switching system to detect the presence of filament in the extruder. It can handle any material and any color, and it is not subject to mechanical wear.

QUIET AND FAST

The MK3S+ uses Trinamic TMC2130 drivers and quality quiet fans. Thanks to this, the printer can also offer a so-called stealth mode, in which it is really extremely quiet. Even in normal mode, the MK3S+ is quieter than most competing models on the market. In addition, in normal mode, the MK3S+ can achieve a sliding speed of more than 200 mm/s!

Prepared print settings

These settings are suitable for all models, not just the test few. Even so, the preset settings can be changed and further modified, so you can always adapt them exactly to your liking ;-)

In addition to print settings, we also fully develop PrusaSlicer slicing software. We regularly update PrusaSlicer, add and debug new features, as well as continuously improve the print settings. Of course, we also prepare print settings for other software, such as Simplify3D, Cura, etc.
