eSUN ePA-GF filament beige (1.75 mm; 1 kg)

About the material:

ePA-GF is developed on the basis of the Nylon 6/66 copolymer. It is enriched with 25% glass fibers, which is a difference to ePA-CF, which is enriched with 20% carbon fibers. This admixture increases the strength, stiffness and general toughness of the filament. Due to these properties, it can replace metal materials in many ways. And because it is self-lubricating and resistant to wear, it is used, among other things, for printing gears. You will appreciate its high toughness and impact resistance when printing parts that are prone to wear. Thanks to its high temperature resistance, ePA-GF deforms at temperatures of approx. 120 °C. Its other properties include low shrinkage and it cannot be bent easily. The surface of the prints is matte and smooth.

Recommended print parameters:

• extruder temperature: 260 - 300 °C (recommended temperature: 280 °C)

Advantages:

Disadvantages:
❌ higher nozzle wear

❌ the filament is difficult to bend

Tips:

Before printing, dry the filament for at least 12 hours at approx. 70 °C ( you can use a special box for drying the filament for this). This will give you the best print quality.
ePA-GF is highly stiff and difficult to bend, so excessive bending during feeding should be avoided as much as possible.
ePA-GF has an abrasive property, so over time it wears the nozzle and extruder gears. Therefore, it is recommended to use hardened steel or ruby nozzles. When possible, the ideal material for extruder gears is hardened steel.
It is convenient to print a skirt (= a contour line around the printout). The print is then easier to remove from the plate.
