FDM

1. Print settings

The print setup is key as we build the next steps on it.

  • use of transparent material
  • higher temperature: a higher temperature is generally recommended (about 10 - 15°C)
  • large nozzle (at least 0,6 mm)
  • high layer (0,3 - 0,5 mm)
  • multiply extrusion (108%)
  • thin and full walls
  • without cooling
  • slower printing (70 - 75% of normal speed)

2. post-process

It is necessary to unite the layers without the use of sealants, etc.

3. Other types
  • chemical reaction (you can try a chemical reaction for some materials) e.g. paint ABS with acetone, spray PETG with dichloromethane
  • paint the printed parts with transparent resin

SLA

1. Print settings

Resin has an advantage, as it is printed with a standard 0,05 mm layer.

  • each resin has specific settings that the manufacturer states
  • the best choice is PMMA resin

2. hardening of the resin

The resin must be washed and left to harden

2. post-process

Since the layer is really small, the post-process is much simpler
